Este projeto vive por si mesmo: tem extensão de 12 quilómetros e vai ligar um conjunto de localizações importantes entre o hospital de Beatriz Ângelo e o Infantado. Estamos a desenvolver o projeto mas também o município de Loures mudou. São sistemas independentes. Estamos a falar de um metro ligeiro, com comboios mais pequenos, semelhantes ao do metro (ligeiro) do Porto ou o Metro Sul do Tejo (Almada e Seixal). O problema dos transportes públicos é muito complexo: o crescimento urbano das cidades nem sempre tem sido conduzido de modo planeado. As populações das localidades urbanas a norte de Lisboa são vários conjuntos espaços, com densidades de 10, 15, 20 mil pessoas. É sempre muito difícil, a qualquer meio de transporte, fazer uma interligação perfeita entre esses aglomerados. O metro ligeiro permite fazer isso: é mais fácil de implementar, é de superfície e anda nas ruas dos automóveis. De certa maneira, contribui para retirar mais carros de circulação. Tem um impacto ambiental importante.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: large;">Está ainda em estudo a implementação de duas linhas intermodais: uma entre Oeiras e Alcântara e outra entre Santa Apolónia e Sacavém. A nossa atividade é desenvolver os estudos prévios e os projetos para apresentação a estudo de impacto ambiental. Tudo o resto depende das autarquias. Presumo que haja um problema pendente: o financiamento. É um projeto já comentado com o presidente da câmara: é muito relevante para o metropolitano conseguir ligar Telheiras à Pontinha e fazer ligação à atual linha azul na estação do Colégio Militar. A manutenção seria mais ágil e passaríamos a ter dois pontos de entrada e de saída do material circulante entre as oficinas e a rede. Também serviria as populações de Telheiras e de Carnide.
